Viewing the Play: Questions for an Engaged Audience

The following set of questions can be posed to students either before or after they have viewed OSU Theater’s Henry V.

    • Why do you think OSU’s production is set in a VFW Hall?

 

    • Is there glory in war?

 

    • Is there a cost to war?

 

    • Does the glory outweigh the cost of war? Does the cost outweigh the glory?

 

    • What is King Henry like at the beginning of the play? What is he like at the end?

 

    • What is Pistol like at the beginning of the play? What is he like at the end?

 

    • Did you recognize any of the songs/music that was used in the show? Why do you think those songs were chosen?

 

    • What was your favorite scene in the play? Why?

 

    • Who was your favorite character in the play? Why?

 

  • If you could have staged the play yourself, would you have staged anything differently? Why and how?
